Improvements on Pylon Panel Placement Design

Pylon’s Panel Placement tool is one of the fastest and easiest to use in the industry.

Other solutions such as PVsell or SolarPlus’ solar design tools require a roof plane to be drawn before panels are generated into the plane. This is a process that takes multiple minutes and lacks exact customisability.

Pylon’s panel placement brings established best practices from graphic design tools and applies it in the solar industry. Users simply drag and drop panels onto the map to design panels. Since inception, we’ve seen design times be reduced by up to 50%.

To further improve on the Panel Placement tool, we’ve recently implemented a Panel Margin feature. Solar designers are required to design solar panels spaced at particular distances from each other. The spacing is dependent on a number of factors from regulatory to client requirements.

Pylon’s existing tool required solar designers to manually measure distances between panels when designing. This is a time consuming process and may take up to a minute to measure per row.

Panel Margin allows the solar designer to input a spacing margin on the panel and all panel designs will incorporate that margin.

The feature has eliminated the need to measure distances when designing solar panels.
