June 2025 Update

Gateway support for SLDs
Pylon now supports SLD for “Gateway” products.

What are Gateway products?
Generally speaking, Gateways are pre-wired sub-boards that save installers time during installation. They allow for solar and battery systems to have back up capabilities without manually wiring up the sub-board.
Examples of these products include, but are not limited to:
How to enable this

You now have access to 2 more options in your SLD settings.
- Loads on sub-board
- Meterbox location
Giving you the flexibility to choose between full home backup or partial home backup.
Custom Design Titles in Comparison Pages
You can now use your Design Labels as the Design section headers on the Comparison Page. This small change makes a huge difference in how clearly your offerings are presented—giving each option a meaningful, descriptive title that aligns with the proposal itself.

This update is now live. No action is required—your Comparison Pages will automatically display Design Labels as section titles from now on.
Other improvements
The comparison page now also includes additional rows for Solar System Size, Battery Size for ease of comparison.
BNPL (Buy now, Pay later) regulation changes
Low cost credit contracts (BNPL) are now regulated in Australia. From 10th of June 2025, BNPL contracts must comply with the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth).
How BNPL products are presented in Pylon
To align with new regulatory requirements, Pylon is updating the way BNPL products are displayed.
What’s Changing?
- Proposal View: In the proposal itself, consumers can freely explore and compare different loan term options.
- Loan Term Selection: The loan term selection dropdown has been disabled, as it is now redundant.
- Max Merchant Fees: The maximum amount of merchant fees will be applied to all terms.
Required Loan Information
All BNPL options will now prominently display:
- Repayment frequency (e.g. fortnightly, monthly);
- Each repayment amount (e.g. $145.32);
- Number of repayments (e.g. 104 repayments); and
- Total repayment amount ($12,420)
How to enable this
We will present a modal on all Projects that have existing BNPL financing, prompting you to update. Clicking on Upgrade financing will update the project for you.

Expanded Support for Real-time Energy Data
We’re excited to announce that many more energy retailers now support Live Energy Data access through Pylon. This expansion enhances our Real-time Customer Loads feature, allowing solar installers to access up-to-date interval data with customer consent—making proposals more accurate and streamlined.
Newly Supported Energy Retailers
The following retailers now support Real-time Energy Data integration:
- Amber
- Blue NRG
- Bradford
- Cooperative Power
- Ergon
- Meriton Energy
- Nectr
- Pacific Blue Retail
- RAA Energy
- Tesla Energy Plan
This broader access helps reduce manual data collection and improves the accuracy of load profile simulations, helping you deliver even more precise system designs and savings estimates.
For instructions on how to use this feature or to see the full list of supported energy retailers, please refer to our Real-time Energy Data support guide.
BESS1 PRCs have been sunset (NSW only)
Effective immediately, BESS1 Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs) have been sunset and are no longer available in Pylon.
BESS1 Creation Disabled
The ability to include BESS1 PRCs has been disabled across all projects. This ensures compliance with the NSW Government’s latest update to the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS).
Removal from unsigned Proposals
Over the coming days, BESS1 references will be automatically removed from any unsigned proposals. This step prevents outdated PRC claims from being presented to customers and ensures regulatory alignment.
BESS2 PRC Changes
You can optionally include BESS2 PRCs as an After Purchase rebate. This is inline with the onboarding and PRC creation process described by the NSW Climate and Energy Action website.
The variables used to calculate BESS2 PRCs have also been updated:
- Peak Reduction Factor: 0.0647 kW/KWh → 0.0734 kW/kWh
- Firmness Factor: 1 → 0.8
- Lifetime: 3 years → 6 years
For more detailed information on the PDRS changes, please refer to the PDRS (Amendment No. 1) Rule 2025
Check out the PRC Calculator website to see how many PRCs your batteries are now eligible for.
Other updates
- You can now see if a Project has been sold in the Project Search Results
- You can now upload additional files whilst completing commissioning forms
- You can now see who else in your team is viewing the same Design you’re viewing
- Battery STCs now have their own independent price
- Existing PRCs can be converted into a discount
