September 2026 Update (UK)
We’ve shipped a lot since our July update. Here’s what’s new:
- Letter of Authority: send homeowner signature requests directly from Pylon
- Project Management: Beta testers wanted!
- Pricebooks: Beta testers wanted!
- Automatic Retailer Tariff Pricing: bring retailer rates into your bill modelling
- Property Boundaries and Better Site Plans: title boundaries and OS Grid coordinates
- Proposal View Notifications: choose your own email alerts for proposal, comparison page and eSignature views
Letter of Authority
You can now create and send a Letter of Authority for homeowner signature directly from Pylon.
Prepare the letter using your project details, select the DNO, and email your customer a signing link. They can review and sign online.
You can track the signature request and download the letter as a PDF from the project, keeping the paperwork together as you prepare the connection application.
We’ve also added Letter of Authority support to the Pylon API for teams connecting their own systems.
Project Management (Beta)
We’ve built Project Management to help your team manage installs and stay on top of the paperwork.
Use workflows to track each installation, so you can see what’s been done and what still needs attention. Pylon can automatically create an installation job and start your default workflow when a project is marked sold.
If you’re juggling a busy install schedule, we’d love you to try it with real jobs and tell us where we can make things easier.
Want to try it? Get in touch and we’ll set you up with beta access.
Pricebooks (Beta)
Ever wanted to charge different prices in different regions? Or keep track of pricing changes each time your wholesaler sends through a new price list?
With Pricebooks, you can set up pricing for each service region and create a new version when your costs change. Choose when each version takes effect, so you can have next month’s pricing ready before the month starts.
Import your supplier price lists, match items to components, and set your markups, minimum margins and labour rates.
It’s in beta, and we’d love you to try it with your own supplier price lists and day-to-day quoting. Tell us what works and what needs improving.
Interested? Reach out and we’ll set you up with access.
Automatic Retailer Tariff Pricing
Setting up a customer’s electricity rates now takes less typing.
Select a supported Octopus or Good Energy tariff and Pylon automatically fills in the electricity rates for you.
We’ve added retailer pricing to tariff search and made the rate source visible in the bill editor. We’ve also improved the handling of Octopus Flux and Cosy rates.
That means less manual entry when you’re setting up a design, and a clearer view of the rates behind your customer’s savings estimate.
Property Boundaries and Better Site Plans
Pylon now shows you property title boundaries alongside the aerial imagery, where title data is available.
You can see the site’s boundaries directly in the design editor as you plan your layout.
Site plans in Great Britain now automatically include OS Grid coordinates, so you don’t need to look them up separately for your DNO paperwork.
Proposal View Notifications
Know when a customer is taking a closer look at your proposal, with three view notifications:
- Proposal viewed: when a customer opens your proposal
- Comparison page viewed: when a customer opens your comparison page
- eSignature viewed: when a customer opens the eSignature page
Email notifications are opt-in for each user. Each team member can turn these three email alerts on or off independently in their own Notification Settings.
